These are original poems, but I didn't write them. I just cut words out of magazines, newspapers, junk mail, and save them. Then I start arranging them on a page until I sumble upone something I like. Amazingly there are themes and threads that come from my subconsious mind while I'm cutting out words. I wish I had a better pair of scissors. http://chickollage.blogspot.com/2007/04/365-collage-poetry-challenge-day-6.html

Four Letter Words
the text
You realize that a
simple
reclusive man crazy
on the
outside
The guy who won't
fight back
can take a list
of four-letter
words& slowly
word by fucking word,
pick the perfect one.
It helps you solve
all
kinds of problems.
True or False?
This understanding
doesn't happen
overnight.
No Shit.
It's n' uncomfortable
secret talents
who knew?
Like you I know the
pleasure of concealment.

The Art Of Living
the text
The Art
of Living
can be puzzling.
Let's shed some lifht on life.
Control is an illusion.
Beware: you can't
take charge of your
extraordinary out of
control life.
You have had to del with heartache.
We shoud have
been more skeptical
What're you
gonna do?
It has
become increasingly
clear that imperfeftion is what makes us human/
Let's get practical: We live with what
happens to us
We jump
between the dim &
the dark.
We live with open
wounds.

Live Big
the text
It's morning
Daylight
again. I'm wide awake.
I was ready for anything but
what I found
Life's good
and the good is in the details.
Yep, it's a sweet surprise.
I never thought
it could happen
to me.
Live
Big ---this is in-
credible---
It takes time
to be a
phoenix.

A Valentine Collage Poem
The text.
Bear with me now.
It turns out time adds perspective.
You might be in for a real wake-up call,
but it's not better to sieze a moment
and act quickly.
Relationships are built
into the pauses.
Discord happens &
love hurts, but don't panic.
Pay attention to love's transformative powers.
"That's a little dramatic, don't you think?"
"Wrong!" I said.
Every day matters.
It is a real-world test.
Recommit to your relationship.
Even the most mundane
things get better.

Be Superficial
The text
You are too
hard on yourself.
You've got an advanced
case of
the worries.
Be superficial.
It feels naughty,
but it's not.

Cash, Greenbacks, Money, Moola
The text of the poem
"Did you have money?" I said
"Not enough,” she said.
"I don't even know what it is I'm chasing."
What happens if you have all your
eggs in one basket? What happens if
we keep getting
abducted by circumstance
& crimes of exploitation?
Look, don't believe in the deep human
need for dreams that inspire us
even in the face of tragedy.
Instinctively -- even if they're not consciously aware
of it--
we salute the basic human urge to get
out of debt
we really want to
"I've been telling myself it's going to get
better,"
he thought.
Get the relief that you've been
waiting for with cash! Green-
backs!
Money!
Moolah cures depression.

Shape Up World
The text of the poem:
Now more than ever
the world needs
a wake up call.
I want to
help heal the world.
Everybody wants to be a hero.
So what! ...er, it's worth noting that
solutins
always arrive too late.
Know that no one and nothing is perfect.
You have the tools to be happy today. All it takes is changing
your attitudes toward yourself and your place in the world.

Shenanigans
This is sarcasm. Shenanigans
get you into trouble. People tend to wag
their finger in a shenanigator’s face and tell you not to make waves, or rock
boats, or be different, but the different among us are not just interesting,
they make life interesting for all of us.
Don’t declare failure. Sitting up
straight is insignificant. Be
significant. Let the shenanigans of your
past haunt you. For shenanigators, it
isn’t haunting, its fond memories.
